Installation & Cleaning Tips

Adhesives:
Ceramic, Porcelain, and Tumbled Stone tiles can be installed with any commercially available adhesive recommended for those materials.  We recommend epoxy thin-set mortar in white for all glass tile installations.

Grout:
Use only nonsanded grout when installing tile.  This helps prevent damage to the artwork during the installation process.  For glass tiles use a grout specifically formulated for use with glass tiles.  Choose a neutral color grout that works well with the tiles you place surrounding the mural.

Cleaning:
Use only nonabrasive cleaners on the Porcelain, Ceramic, or Tumbled Stone tiles. Glass can be cleaned with any commercially available glass cleaner.

Design Help
Tile Oasis will work with you to reproduce our artwork on tile as close as possible to the original artwork.  We may need to crop portions of the image depending on your desired mural size.  Each tile mural can be produced to your specific need.  Artists produce artwork in a variety of different dimensions.  Each art piece may not fit perfectly into the dimensions of a standard tile size multiple.

For example this image works well in a 5 wide by 7 long tile configuration.  If you order this art piece you can simply use either a 4", 6”, 8” or 12” tile to determine the overall size of the mural.  However, you may want a mural smaller than 36” x 42” when using this mural in a 6” tile.  We will work with you and crop this image another way that may allow you to have this mural in a smaller size; possibly 18” x 24”.  Part of the image will be cropped to accomplish this.  Similarly, you may want a mural using 12” tiles to minimize grout lines.  In this case we may have to crop more of the image and make it 4 wide by 6 long.  With this image the amount of cropping may be too much to retain the original artworks look.  We may suggest a maximum tile size of 8” to retain most of the artwork and go either 16” x 24” or 24” x 32”, whichever looks best.

Panorama artwork can be sized according to your project need.  A panorama can be a backsplash art piece that is either single tile or multiple tile high and the width required for the art piece.  As well, panorama artwork can be sized the full size of a bar or larger using a tile size of your choice.

 Want something totally custom...

We can take a portion of an image and create a mural that fits your space requirement.  As you can see, this image can be cropped to a panorama for a backsplash or bar application.
